  • Jerry Garcia Acoustic Band - Almost Acoustic CD
    Item #: JYCD40
In March of 1987 Jerry Garcia, David Nelson, Sandy Rothman, and John Kahn performed a six-song set at a benefit concert at the Fillmore. Almost Acoustic was recorded live during the band's fall 1987 tour stops at The Wiltern in Los Angeles and the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco. The performances honor the works of Jimmie Rodgers and Mississippi John Hurt with covers of bluegrass and folk classics such as "Blue Yodel #9" and "Spike Driver Blues" along with other traditional favorites including "Oh, the Wind and Rain," "I've Been all Around this World," and "Deep Elem Blues." • Jerry Garcia Compliments LP
    Item #: JYLP02
An exclusive re-issue of Garcia (Compliments), Jerry's second full length solo studio album. Garcia (Compliments) has been pressed on 180gram black vinyl by Quality Record Pressings in Salina, Kansas. The Garcia (Compliments) vinyl was remastered for vinyl release by Joe Gastwirt with lacquers cut by Kevin Gray.

Originally released in 1974, the album was simply titled Garcia. To distinguish this release from the eponymous debut, Garcia (Compliments) takes its revised name from a "Compliments of" sticker which appeared on promotional copies of the album. The album was produced by long-time collaborator John Kahn and peaked at #49 on the Billboard charts upon initial release. Kahn selected the compositions featured on the release with the exception of "Russian Lullaby," which was selected by Garcia. When asked about the selections, Garcia noted: "John and I share such similarities of taste, something that I like John is almost sure to like it. We're very like each other musically. That's one of the reasons I've been playing with him all this time."

In addition to a track list that boasts classics from artists like Chuck Berry, Smokey Robinson, and Peter Rowan, Garcia (Compliments) also boasts an all-star cast of the 1970's most in-demand session players. Joining Garcia & Kahn are drummer Ron Tutt (Elvis), guitarist Larry Carlton (Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell, Fourplay), organist Merl Saunders, and legendary backing vocalists Merry Clayton, and Clydie King, among others.

    Item #: JYCD55
GarciaLive Volume Four: March 22nd, 1978 Veteran's Hall highlights an oft-requested Jerry Garcia Band line-up featuring Jerry, John Kahn, Buzz Buchanan, Maria Muldaur and Keith & Donna Godchaux. Falling just days after the conclusion of the Garcia band's tour and days before the release of Cats Under The Stars, this intimate performance in Sebastopol, CA showcases a particularly relaxed, vibrant and soulful Garcia Band evident on moving versions of "Mission in the Rain," "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down," and the gospel standard "I'll Be With Thee." Rocking takes on "Mystery Train," "I Second That Emotion" and "Midnight Moonlight" bring the surging tempos that offer beautiful balance to the performance and showcase the band's tremendous musical range. The performance also marks the first guest appearance from future Jerry Garcia Band keyboardist Ozzie Ahlers.

Caveat: GarciaLive Volume Four celebrates an era of the Jerry Garcia Band known for its sweet, soulful and expansive performances. This exemplary performance, as was common for the time, extended beyond the bounds of the original ¼” analog reels missing the final few measures of “Midnight Moonlight,” but is otherwise complete. Listen comfortably with our promise that every effort was made to produce this performance for release in a manner which honors the spirit of its creation.
